Good on ya, Cotty! I've done that very thing on several of my older Pentax lenses, that would otherwise probably have taken excellent photographs - but somehow any less than perfect aspect to the lens just offended me, somehow! And, coming out of a CLA, I've always been very well pleased! A couple of days ago, I had a practically new late model SMC 50/1.4 Takumar CLA'd. When picking it up, a front-of-the-counter customer asked why I'd spend that kind of money on a 30 year old lens. Did he get an education! Of course, after I let him feel the heft and butter-smoothness of the rings, he sort of changed his mind. I almost had him ready to buy an older Pentax! <g> keith > Very impressive lens.
