I had an ME I was shooting out the window with the lens on infinity,
so I wasn't really focussing, just pointing. The camera was set on
automatic. Also, the roads there are pretty straight, especially when
you're out in the desert.
The whole operation probably only took a few seconds: pick up camera
from passenger seat, point at interesting thing in desert, press
shutter. Camera back to passenger seat.
Lens at f8, bright desert sunshine, 400 film so high shutter speed.
