On my last trip to Africa, which is now 5 years ago - how time flies! - I took the following: 3 LXs, each with a winder AF280T 24-35mm 28-50mm 70-210mm 28/2 50/1.4 85/1.4 135/1.8 300/4 400/5.6 2X extender several LX viewfinders Manfrotto 190? tripod various other bits and pieces. 100+ rolls of film to transport it all around I used a Pelican 1550 case, which I can recommend very highly. With the combination locks it can go through the checked baggage on airlines and be quite safe. I also had a minimal kit, and all the film, in my carry-on bag. These cases can also go on the top of a bus and be quite safe. For such a situation, or on a train trip or similar, I have 2 bodies, 2 lenses and a few rolls of film in a Domke F-2, or a LowePro S&F backpack, where I can get to them quickly and easily, and also have a few other daily essentials. Although I haven't travelled with quite so much kit since, I have travelled with quite a lot, and this set-up works well for me. I've gone through the 'take everything everywhere' stage (although I had legit reasons for all that stuff in Africa) and now travel a lot lighter, but the same basic luggage set-up still works well. -- Cheers, Bob mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
