I haven't even received my *ist D yet, but I've pretty much decided against the battery grip. It makes sense on the MZ-S where it will pay for itself fairly quick due to the ability to use AA batteries. However, if the *ist D comes anywhere near its specification of ~450 exposures per set of NiMh batteries, it will be hard for me to justify it.
