AFAIK, we don't have a separate Marine Corps like you do in the US. We do have a lot of leaky ships. A couple of years ago, we bought some antique British subs for lots of money. Turns out they had been in an accident (the hulls were dented or something), but those sneaky Brits didn't tell us. Apparently, we thought the price was too high, but the Admiral selling them said he might get us a better price, "but he'd have to talk to the sales manager first". We did get a better price, "but only if we bought today". They threw in free floor mats, "but at that price, they couldn't give us undercoating".

That's our armed services, in a nutshell. Seriously.

During the War in Afghanistan, we sent a ship full of troops from Halifax. It had to turn back within a day, because they ran out of drinking water. I'm not making that up, although some stuff in the first paragraph was made up, for the purposes of humour.

cheers,
frank

Does Canada have Marines to go with their Navy, or do you just give life jackets
to the Mounties and their Huskies?
