It wasn't so much about the html specification as trying to ensure I got a minimum number of emails per month complaining that someone or other couldn't open the PUG. If a browser can't open a page because of a missing tag, it is not an optional tag no matter what the html specification is (at least for the person who can't view the page). William Robb
