Truly astonishing. You thought that Concorde was loud at full chat - I
was on a scaffold at the end of the runway at Fairford one year, shooting
straight down the runway. It's a long one (UK emergency stand-by runway
for the STS) and when the B-1 flew, it passed over me at about 200 feet
and boy o boy - ear defenders on, and hearing was fine, but I could feel
organs and flesh bouncing around in my body as he lit the afterburners.
The first time I've ever been really frightened in my job.

Nicest sound ever heard from something that flies? Easy. Spitfire ;-)

This is such a geeky thread, lol. Too off topic. Sorry

Cheers,
  Cotty
