Dear fellow members,

There has been no work in the 'Pit of HELL' for weeks. The 'sand' pages on
my website, in three languages, have had 6567 hits from the end of the first
week they were put up -- mid-June.

The website also elicited a call from MTV2 and a TV team came here to do a
five minute interview with me that was broadcast a week later. I am sure
this contributed to what happened next. Incredibly, the Toivakan Kunta
(Toivakka Town Council) had a meeting of their environmental board, many
members of which visited the website, and decided that the cement company
would be required to get a new permit from the Ministry of the Environment.
This contradicted their, many times over, expressed view that the permit
they had given the 'Company from Hell' was okay and that the company was
operating within its terms.

So for the moment no work is being done. I guess it will start later when
there is snow on the ground and dust will be at a minimum. I also drew the
attention of the Ministry of Health to the conditions in the factory where
the workers (and staff) breathe huge amounts of dust regularly. The factory
is not working either at this time.

So thanks to all who visited and emailed the links. It worked and people are
still doing this. I think it important not to slow down but to keep the
pressure up until the company have their new permit and are working within
its terms.

The directors of the 'Company from HELL' visited the site 73 times during
the first week and their lawyers too. I know this because I have hidden
counters on every page that collect IP addresses -- and much other
information.
