David, Your Ricoh is the recently discontinued model that I've been eyeing: it's manual focus, it's still available new, and it displays the shutter speed on the top panel. You obviously like the Super Program, as I do. (They're my only three bodies.) How would you compare the XR-X3P with your Super Programs? Specifically: Which SLR would you use, when? Which is quieter? Which feels better? Which is easier to shoot with when holding the camera vertically? Which has the brighter viewfinder? Which is easier to focus? Does this depend on focal length or orientation? Ricoh's rangefinder splits the image diagonally. This is said to aid in vertical compositions, but I've read that it can make wide-angle focusing more difficult. And finally: If you were told that you'd have to use one camera or the other for the rest of your life, which would you choose? > David< > > Who only owned a PZ1-p and a Ricoh XR-X3p, and a half-dozen lenses when he > joined this list a few years ago.
