Hello!

Sorry, what was the question Fawlty?

Butchering the back end of a SMC K is easy - it requires removal of the
aperture lever that sticks out of the back. There's 2 ways to do it.

1. Carefully unscrew the mount-retaining screws. Remove mount and plastic
inner spacer between mount and rear lens element. Carefully remove
aperture ring, note detent ball will want to spring into orbit - detain
in safe place. Unpick all the gubbins therein, persuade aperture lever to
depart pivot point. Create new anchorage for spring to attach to. Rebuild.

-or-

2. Saw the bugger off.

Naturally I chose the latter.

Once my EOS/K mount adapter is made (in progress) I will post a web page
detailing the operation with scratches, er I mean sketches...

Cheers,
  Cotty
