Hello Francis,

The other change about the S4 that I have heard of is the little
5 way rocker switch is larger (this is a good thing - the original one
is marginal in size).  Keep in mind that with the larger image you
will have fewer frames to shoot and longer processing and storage
times.

As to battery life, because of how fast the camera boots up (< 2 sec),
we tend to use it for one shot, turn off, turn on, one shot, turn off
type of cycle.  With that type of usage, we were able to get about
90-100 shots along with some review at Disneyland recently.  I do
recommend a second battery.

I can say that the Optio S is exactly what a Point & Shoot should be.
 Works like a charm and produces very usable images.  If mine were
 lost or stolen, I would get another.  I don't think I would go for
 the S4 over the original S though.
