REPLY You might find it much easier and cheaper to make your way to Newark, New Jersey and rent a car there. Newark is very close to New York City. You can easily get there by a cheap train ticket or a more expensive cab. Car rentals are significantly cheaper and you would be starting your drive outside of the heaviest NYC traffic.
