I recently received this lens as part of a package. (package includes
Spotmatic F, 55mmF1.8 Super Tak, everready case, Vivtar 265 and a
Montgomery Ward flash)
The camera battery cover is not going on correctly, so I beleive that I
would need to get a new cover.
The legend on the front of this lens says the following:
Asahi Opt. Co. Lens made in Japan 1918898 Macro-Takumar 1:4 / 50
On the Macro lens, it has two (2) aperature ring on it . The range runs
from F22 to F4. Any reason as to why it had two aperature ring and are
eah ring supposed to go through the entire range form F22 to F4.0? It
appears that this lens is only stop down metering. No Auto / Manual
switch.
Can someone explain to me how to use this lens.
Hey Paul Provencher, I took your advice and looked at the package deals
on EBay and found that packages that included lenses were cheaper than
bnuying just a body and one lens. As you can see, I am trying to built
up my Spotmatic F system with at least 2 good working bodies and an
assortment of lenses. Presently I have the Macro-Takumar 50mmF4.0, SMC
Takumar 55mmF1.8 and the SMC Takumar 50mmF1.4 as my OEM lenses.
I have a CZJ 20mmF4.0 Flektogon , and am in the process of buying 2 other
CZJ lenses. They are the 35mmF3.4 MC Flektogon and the 135mmF3.5 MC
Sonnar.
That would about round up my M42 system. I am also looking for an M42 to
Pentacon Six adapter. That way I can use my 50mmF4.0 Flektogon, 120mm
F2.8 Biomeatr, 180mmF2.8 Sonnar and my 300F4.0 Meyer Optics.
Now all I have to do is to find a good repairman who can repair my system
for me.
