There is a story about a Russian mathematician (whose name I forget) who was once chided by a British friend about the way he spoke English. His reply was "there are 70 million English that speak English like you and 240 million Russians that speak it like me"

Since most of my English is obtained passively through observation and copying, I often misuse words. Well, naturally, most of my English lessons back in Moscow were mostly either irrelevant or plain forgotten...
