OK, i just ran a test to compare level 3 in PhotoLab with Level 0 in camera
and it is fairly significant. however, FocusFixer at my normal settings does
even more sharpening and almost always without objectionable artifacts. i
have just produced a couple of Pentax RAW images, increased the image size
to 6000x4008, ran FocusFixer, and then made some color adjustments. the
results look very good indeed, approaching what i can get using the same
lens ( FA 24-90 @ f11) on Provia 100F scanned at 4000dpi. of course, i can
sharpen the film scan with FocusFixer too, but then i am sharpening film
grain at the same time.
