I am using AcDSee software. The difference in brightness is actually very
misleading. While taking an avi file, it seems to be just fine. I can even
play it on the lcd fine. The video out plays the avi fine on the tv as
well. However when transferred to the pc, its quite dark. 

The only conclusion I can come to is that playout on the  LCD is not
WYSIWYG. The redering mechanism probably adds more brightness. If this is
true, then its quite disappointing really. 

If this is true for all models, I am surprised that no one has complained
about it bef.
