The photo looks like the Hama hood I have that fits my A 28mm f2.8.
The circular band behind the hood is the connecting device. Lifting a
little lever on the band (visible at right side of the photo) loosens it
. Get it in position with the circular band around the end of the lens
barrel, snap the lever down and it tightens the band so that it fits
snugly on the lens barrel.
Stays in position pretty well as long as you don't bump anything with
it, in which case it may get a bit cock-eyed and, being rectangular,
will block part of the image area.
