WOW you have a lens faster than f4? <LOL>

Basically you can assume that progress in sensor design will lead to higher 
sensitivity for a given pixel site area. This translates to a higher base ISO 
and lower noise when amplifying the sensor output to in camera to emulate 
higher ISOs. The compromise is that you have to use ND filters to effectively 
desensitize the system. Swings and roundabouts.
