I just received my 28mm Asahi Super-Takumar 28mmF3.5 screwmount lens for
my Spotmatic F. I also purchased an original Takumar 1:3.5 28mm square
lenshood. SInce I can't view the 24mm lenshood on the Net, I will
describe how this square hood fits.

I beleive that this lenshood is made of alumunium and is slightly
purplish in color. There is a two (2) dot lineup system on the either
side of the sliding locking ring.
To have the sliding ring i position, both dots must be lined up. The
lenshhod is slipped over the front lens barrel and is tighten by turning
the sliding locking ring to the right. (Thisis provided that you have the
dots in the upright position!!)

The square lenshood will most probably have better flare control and less
vignetting than the round lenshood.

What is the optical performance of this lens?
