I have a challenge here. As an Englishman living in Scotland, I am constantly barraged about the clear superiority of the Scots over the English, much of which is based on the bragging right that arose from Scotland beating England in a skirmish in 1314 (and no, that doesn't mean nearly quarter past one).
Do any other cultures have rivalries where one side can go further back to prove superiority over another.
