I seem to recall that removing the top plate may not be as simple as it seems. Other than the fact that there are many small teeny little screws that one must keep track of, it seems to me that that I had trouble removing a ring around either the rewind spindle or the film advance hub. It either needs a special tool, or one must fashion one one's self.

I got the instructions from someone once, and got as far as the above mentioned problem, then gave up and put it back together.

If no one else on this list has it, try going over to YahooGroups Spotmatic and asking there. Someone will have those instructions, I'm quite confident.

cheers,
frank

... to those who have done this before:

I have just received a nice and clean Spotmatic F that has a loose flash shoe. I
suppose that this can be fixed easily from inside the top cover but are there
any details to observe when removing this part? Any left hand threads or
springs that jump out?

Thanks for your advice!

Sven
