Hey Joe, Jostein just went to bed. He's visiting tonight (business trip to London) and after a huge meal of sausage and mashed potato etc, not forgetting the obligatory Hobgoblin ale, he's retired sated. He mentioned that the meetings he has been having are not that scintillating, and they all sit at the tables, laptops open, taking notes. Well, supposed to be. Jostein is catching up on the list and tweaking the auto-PUG apparently ;-) We had a session on the kitchen table with some bits and bobs. I had my D60 and K50 1.2 out and Jostein brought the *ist D with FA 28-70 2.8. My first handling of the *ist D and In was very impressed. Interesting to hold the two cameras vertically side by side, one to each eye, to see the relative sizes of the viewfinders. The *ist D is bigger, but not by much. I found the rotary dial affair a bit fiddly but I have big fingers and am used to the Canon dial by now so I would say that wouldn't I. The small size was a pleasant surprise, and the build quality is good. My large hand kept firing the vertical orient shutter release when holding the camera in landscape format until I switched it off. The review functions on the LCD screen felt sluggish, but again I'd had wine followed by port so everything felt sluggish. Overall I was very impressed by the camera. But was it enough to get me to switch back from the dark side? No. I'm fine where I am. I'll stick for the time being. BTW, Jostein brought some prints, both digital and film, and they are all cracking shots. He is going to absolutely love the NPW - it's what he was made for! *hic* Cheers, Cotty ___/\__ || (O) | People, Places, Pastiche ||=====| www.macads.co.uk/snaps _____________________________ Free UK Mac Ads www.macads.co.uk
