Absolutely. I do it all the time with outdoor fill flash. I've used an 18mm lens with my AF400FTZ set to the 105mm setting (one and a half stops down from ambient) to pick out details in the main subject while leaving everything else in the frame alone. -- Mark Roberts Photography and writing www.robertstech.com
