That 12 hours is from route mapping software. It of course does not take into consideration rush hour traffic, road construction, accidents, and flying saucers landing. It is also from city center (Manhatten, my post was aimed at AnnSan). I think you can plan on a couple hours from the airport. Someone here suggested awhile back that you and Adelheid use public transportation in NYC (subways, taxis) and rent a car in NJ to run down to GFM. That was probably a good suggestion as NYC is the most car unfriendly city in the US. Luckily the Interstates now allow you to pass through it fairly handily now, but if you want to see the sites a car will be a hinderance rather than a help.

Tan,

Adelheid and I are planning to make a holiday of it, so we are flying in
almost a week before the Nature Photo Weekend, and meander ourselves down to
GFM with a rented car. Someone mentioned approx 12 hours driving from
Kennedy airport to Charlotte/GFM, but that doesn't sound like me
driving...:-)

Cheers,
Jostein

The nearest international airport is Charlotte, NC. I could give you a

ride

from there to GFM. tv lives near Washington, Dulles airport. I think
Jostein and Adelheid are flying into Kennedy airport in New York, and
Atlanta, Georgia is about 5 hours by road. Shucks, if you came to

Atlanta

no later than Tuesday, I'd drive down there and pick you up if

necessary.

Looks like one of , if not the, largest PDML gathering ever.

Counting

the

regular attendees, including the usual lurkers, plus the first

timers,

it

looks like there will be close to 30 PDML'ers there.
