Herb, over that last 7 - 10 years I've been doing alot of weeklong workshops with noted American Outdoor Pros - Rod Planck, Geo Lepp and John Shaw. My photography has really benefited from these workshops. My suggestions - make sure the leaders know the area well. Go on workshops with no more than 12 participants, go on workshops that include critiques of your work - either what you shoot on the workshop or what you bring with you. I could go on but these are some of the important points I've learned over the years. P S - I've done 12 or workshops and have only run into one other participant shooting Pentax!
