You guys might remember me posting how I dropped my gear on the road a few
weeks back? Well, it was on the 22 November - so that makes it just over 3
weeks ago. Well, on the Monday immediately following the "event", I sent my
Tamron 28-200mm lens off to Maxwell Corp. Australia, in Lidcombe, NSW to be
looked at for fixing. I told them it was "no hurry" as I expected it to
cost alot, and probably couldn't afford it prior to Christmas. Well, about
5 days later, I received a quote via email - I couldn't believe that they
had done this already, but they had and it was for only $126.00 (including
CLA, recallibrating, replacing of one element and broken focus drive, parts
etc) - I had expected at least $300! So of course, I said to go ahead.
Well, I am amazed to say that I got my lens back yesterday! You could have
knocked me over with a feather... Talk about fast service! For those in
Australia, if you ever have need for work on Tamron/Nikon products, be sure
to send DIRECT to Maxwell rather than an agent, you will receive great
service that is not only fast, but really well priced....
