This, and the other shots I posted, were all taken at the ist-D best jpg setting, max resolution (2000x3000). Downloaded to the hard drive. [Copy made and original saved on an external 40GB hard drive - when I get 3-4 CD's worth, I burn backups onto CD's.] Opened in Photoshop Elements, no manipulation of any sort on any of these, except to rotate to proper orientation. Resized to 960xwhatever, saved as a jpg with as little compression as I could use and still keep the file size under about 175kb. Here are a couple more. In the first case I cropped from the original Wumps photo, and then downsized and compressed. In the case of Boodles (Kittencaboodles, our younger larger Coon) my crop was tight enough that I did not need to resize to 960 x whatever before compressing. http://home.earthlink.net/~smh645/wumpsCropped.jpg http://home.earthlink.net/~smh645/boodlesCropped.jpg No, I haven't printed any of these. In fact I have only printed 2 of the 1000+ ist-D images I have shot. Before I go on my Christmas trip to my in-law's in Michigan, or maybe while I am there, I'll select out the best 20-25 and get those printed. But I'll have it done by my local shop - I don't own a printer which I would use for "photo-quality" prints. When viewed on my Powerbook LCD screen, 1152x768, both of the cat pictures look great. The whiskers are sharp and distinct, the fur is clear, nice colors... Again, except for orientation adjustment, resizing, and compression, as noted, no corrections/adjustments made on these - the are pretty much as they came out of the camera. stan stan
