To be technically correct, nobody has a Pentax Electro Spotmatic II, they have Asahi Pentax ESII's or Honeywell ESII's. The Electro Spotmatic was a trial version of the Pentax ES sold for the first year in Japan. It is wired instead of using circuit boards (but I wouldn't take mine apart to check that).
The ES cameras are very nice. They can be as automatic as using a Pentax ME. The Super-Multi-Coated lenses support aperture automation and are very high quality optically and mechanically. They are a very good reason for using the ES series of cameras. The drawbacks of the ES series are in manual speeds. The camera wants to shoot speeds from 1/1000th to 1/60th on the shutter dial. There are no slower speeds, only auto operations. But build of the cameras is old style mechanical, so they are pleasing to hold. Regards, Bob S.
