By focusing rubber,do you mean the long knurly rotating piece.If so how do you remove 
it
to get to the 
screws.

Yes it feels loose when rotating.My M 135 and M 150 have this large knurled focus ring 
and
are quite 
stiff.I have no problems with those two moving focus on me,just the SMC-PENTAX A 70-210
f4.
