When I was a kid, we visited my grandfather in San Antonio every
summer.
Granpa sternly warned us against eating the tacos from the corner
street vendor.
" Why not, Granpa?" we asked with a whine.
"Well," he said with that air of adult authority we often mistook for
absolute truth, "Have you noticed there aren't any stray dogs or cats
in the neighborhood?"
"Yuck... that's gross!" we squealed, then laughed and called each
other dog-breath, and chased each other around the yard, and generally
forgot about dog and cat tacos, because we didn't want any spicy tacos
anyway, not in the San Antonio heat... we really wanted a good cold
orange popsicle from the ice cream truck.
Wonder where they got the orange water to make those popsicles?
