That dam, by the way, has been home to a mother hippo and a succession of calves. Its a mile long and about a quarter mile wide when full. I stocked it with Large Mouth Bass, the moment it was full, and the fishing was very good until the first drought struck. She (the hippo) went away, but came back after the dam filled again.
