I have a web site where I display photos for family and friends. These folks have a great variety of equipment and connection speeds. For photos I chose a site that would let me easily accommodate everyone with a minimum of set up work by me.

You can see my photo pages at <http://georges.smugmug.com> I've posted this link before. There are some Optio S and *istD samples there.

I can upload full size originals. Smugmug creates the thumbnails and several different display sizes. Allowing viewers to see the original is an option, selectable by gallery. Allowing viewers to purchase prints is also selectable by gallery. There are several options available, all of which are described in the help files at the main site <http://www.smugmug.com>.

A key feature of Smugmug is unlimited storage space. Instead, you are limited to 2 Gigabytes of bandwidth per month. (I've never come near using that.) Commercial users can subscribe at higher levels.

I feel it's necessary to make this disclosure statement: If you decide to sign up for the service, put my email address in the "referrer" field. You'll get a small discount and I'll get a small credit. I have no other connection with Smugmug other than that of satisfied customer.

See you later, gs
