Mostly for personal enjoyment. My wife has an alternate career as a food
writer. This has taken me all sorts of places, as I often take the shots
that accompany her stories. We've been published in the NY Times, Boston
Globe, Chicago Tribune, Dallas etc. On my own, I've had shots in San Diego
and several magazines. Food shots can really vary (from workers picking
olives in Spain or walnuts in Paris, Texas to pics of real food that has to
be well lit and taken before the ice cream melts out of shape). They are
almost always challenging and usually the people involved make them lots of
fun.

For enjoyment, I like shots of dogs (we've been raising Bearded Collies for
over 40 years) and people in foreign (to me) places. I usually try to show
how similar we all are while highlighting singular differences.
