Long time since I disassembled mine. Much shorter time since I reasssembled it 8-) I seem to remember that the joints are made with flexible strips pressing against adjacent parts, although I may be confusing that with some other prism. In any case, if it is that type of joint or wires, poor contact or damaged wire is the most likely cause of your problem. You need to re-disassemble 8-) and check everything. mike
