Motion picture cameras are actually quite loud, although I doubt as loud
(under similar conditions) as an SLR. Any motion picture camera used
while recording dialogue and or fx will be blimped. This means a special
hard or soft housing covers the camera and motor mechanism to mask the
sound as much as possible. Astute viewers with excellent sound systems
will note camera noise during a very quiet-voiced interview on TV.
Feature films with any unwanted noise will be 're-looped' or re-voiced by
the actors.
