LOL. Excellent description. >Surely motion picture cameras >are quieter than this, at faster frame rates. Why do these have to be >so loud? Motion picture cameras are actually quite loud, although I doubt as loud (under similar conditions) as an SLR. Any motion picture camera used while recording dialogue and or fx will be blimped. This means a special hard or soft housing covers the camera and motor mechanism to mask the sound as much as possible. Astute viewers with excellent sound systems will note camera noise during a very quiet-voiced interview on TV. Feature films with any unwanted noise will be 're-looped' or re-voiced by the actors. > >*or weapons. I wonder how front-line photojournalists feel about >making that kind of noise around nervous people with Kalashnikovs. Incredible, isn't it. While the bloke with the M6 gets one quiet shot off - the winner ;-) Cheers, Cotty ___/\__ || (O) | People, Places, Pastiche ||=====| www.macads.co.uk/snaps _____________________________ Free UK Mac Ads www.macads.co.uk
