My son was competing in his first Pinewood Derby this evening (Scout thing
if you're unfamiliar) and I decided to shoot the event with one of my LX
kits. Normally I shoot these Scouting events with my digital camera so that
I can email the photos off that evening to my father-in-law, who's big into
the Boy Scout thing and likes to see the pics of his grandson. But tonight
I decided to shoot film.

I didn't go overboard in equipment; an LX body with the SMC-A 35-105, LX
Winder, AF280T flash, and a grip B completed my ensemble.

I received the following comments from the 200 or so parents in attendance:

1. Wow! That's some camera setup!

2. Are you with a newspaper?

3. Is that one of those new digital cameras? (Don't ask me what motivated that)

4. Are you the official photographer? (at least 1/3 of the adults had
cameras in hand).

5. Pentax? I think I have one of those at home in a closet somewhere.

and various permutations of the above.
