Does anyone have any experience with the Fuji S2? any comments for or
against?

I use the S2 at work. We use it as a part of the body imaging system for our skin melanoma analysis (shameless plug: http://www.polartechnics.com.au).

Fine camera. Skin tones (which most interest us) are very natural, and the "pseudo" 12Mpx image is very handy for zooming in on lesion details.

Chews through batteries, though. Not such an issue for our system, since it is tethered and runs off the AC adapter, but when I was testing it initially, I went through several sets of batteries (and you need both lithiums to drive the camera, and AAs for the digital part).

If you've used the F80/N80 Nikon, then all the other camera operations should be familiar. Nice quiet shutter, reasonable shutter lag, very solidly built.

The deciding factor for us was that it could be driven remotely from the PC, through the firewire connection. Very handy for taking shots that go straight into our patient database.
