A number of lenses that put their filters at the rear require that one
filter always be present ... the optical path was designed with glass
in that spot. I think (at least) one of the Pentax fisheye's is like
this, too. I also think I've seen lenses with rear-mounted filters that
were permanently mounted so that one of them was always in the optical
path.
