I think this is the longest thread I have seen since I joined this group, but I'm gonna comment anyway.
Back when I used to play in a band we had a saying we would repeat before every show, "Play it the way we rehearsed it." It means that people who knew our music came to hear our music, not to hear us butcher our music. It is the same with wedding photography. People hire me after they have seen my portfolio and they want me to do the same thing for them that they saw in that portfolio. I try to be creative where I can, but...that's why I do weddings primarily for the money. I enjoy it to the extent that I love photography and I am getting paid to do what I love, but I'd rather be shooting a nice casual portrait where I can be creative (and just re-shoot it if the customer does not agree with my creative vision).
