Steve, I think any current 6MP camera will be less than half it's
original purchase price after 24 months. Maybe even less. I suppose it
depends on where they're going with sensor resolution. If the place to be
is 10MP in 18 months, then 6MPs (DSLRs) will fall fast. If on the other
hand it's all happening at 8MP, then 6 doesn't seem so bad and that will
help keep used prices up.

I think the vast majority of buyers look at the MP number. I did - I knew
6 was my lower limit, not 3.

It is quite possible that things will hold at 6 MP for some time, with
other advances coming along, like better processing and larger buffers.
Who wants a 6MP camera that kaks after 4 shots (300D)? Entry level, sure,
but  that sucks!

It will be a very interesting time in the next 2 years, perhaps even more
interesting than the last 2. The flight has left the ground and is still
climbing. We want to know where it's going to level out and when the
drinks are served. LOL.
