M50/1.4 is not optically identical to A50/1.4.
Pentax made some modifications when they introduced
A50/1.4. I think A50/1.4 is slightly better than
M50/1.4 in point of image uniformity over the frame,
less vignetting, better coating, etc.
But still, many people prefer M50/1.4 to A50/1.4,
and many people prefer A50/1.4.
Very interesting, isn't it ? :^)
