I use heavier lenses like the Sears 80-200mm F4 and the A 35-105mm F3.5 on
my ZX-M without any problems at all. Plastic lens mounts seem to hold up
pretty well. I don't know how well they would handle really heavy lenses,
but with a really big lens I wouldn't try to hold up the weight with the
body anyway.

I was going to write, "New body, old lenses." But in the focal lengths
you've named, Pentax's 50 and 28 are nice specimens, priced for mortals. So
make that "New body, new 28 and 50, used SMC 135/2.5K." Make sure she
understands that a body with a plastic lens mount may not be a wise choice
if she anticipates using anything longer or heavier than the 135K.

A friend of mine wants to buy a camera. Now, in my mind, I figured she
wouldn't want to spend too much money, so, a Super Program, 135, 50, and
28 seems a really good way to go. But she surprised me and said she's
willing to spend a little more
money, and wants something new. It isn't immediately obvious to me that I
should recommend Pentax.
Would you?
