Just heard on the news -- I'm sure there are others of you who know how very important she was as a teacher, even if you had not seen much of her in film or on stage...
I was lucky enough to study with her for a brief 3 months back in 1959.... what an amazing woman -- and also saw her in the original "Who's Afraid of Virginal Wolfe?" I have the record of the performance and had planned to sell it on ebay but now feel I can't do it right away out of respect. She was quite old, but was acting pretty recently off-broadway - I wish I'd gone to that performance. annsan sad
