I'll second the "stiff but smooth" observation. I must admit that I find the two dials on the *ist D (which I'm told is like the PZ-1P) a lot easier to use. OTOH, I never used that dial on the MZ-S much anyway, whereas it seems the *ist D uses them for everything.
