And I do plan on taking it out tomorrow to shoot. I have the 85/1.9 and enjoy it, I am looking forward to trying out the 1.8. And after what Paul states below I am really anxious. Too bad I missed out on the 120, but it went to a good home...
I will be helping out at a 5k tomorrow morning. I hope to get some nice people shots. Paul, I am positive you will enjoy the *ist D. I know I am. Beware of flash photography. I have found the best results by using a meter - this is with the *ist D, D1X, and D1H. For the most part TTL works very well, there are instances where the camera metering is fooled. I have not sat down to figure out where, possibly where there is a lot of white in the image. I shot about 50 shots today and about a third was with the AF500FTZ with no problems. I have also used the AF280T and AF400T.
