Folks, We have already got many offers for monetary contribution, and one offer to take over the hosting. You just have to admire the commitment of people on this list!
But Alin raises two separate issues in his mail. One is to move the gallery to another server, the other is to change the solution itself. The latter begs discussion. For my part, I strongly oppose that the PUG should be a host for personal galleries. There are already loads of places offering that service for free, and I don't see why the PDML should take on the effort of providing yet another. The idea of having automated posting and the gallery itself on the same server is a good one. I'd just like to throw in one note of caution; the human quality control we have today is really high-level, thanks to the commitment of the PUGmeisters, Adelheid now and William Robb before her. I would hate to see the QC disappear in an automated system. also,I would be quite happy to contribute to the programming if my skills suits the platform (the only things I can do is ASP and JavaScript). cheers Jostein ---------------------------------------------------------------- This message was sent using IMP, the Internet Messaging Program.
