Ok, Shel, here's my test of the D.  These are 100% crops from a full sized
in-camera JPEG.  No sharpening etc. (all settings default). They were made
with my Vivitar S1 105/2.5 macro.  F11 @ 5sec. ISO 200

Warning, each image is >500kb.
