they have been able to do it for about 15 years. write speed and read speed
are very slow, and the storage fades after about 6 months unless renewed.
that's why they gave up. nice concept in theory. your 10 layer DVD is now
approaching commercial feasilbility. that's 5 years out at most before we
can buy.
