Happened to find a free 190 page book of Karsh photography. ("Karsh" by University of 
Toronto Press 1983.)
Interesting mirror of the times as well as many influential portraits of statesmen, 
artists and the like. (Some of them very good, some of them slightly over- or 
melo-dramatic.) I'll see if I can make use of some of his lighting techniques for some 
b&w portraits.
There is a number of very good non-portrait shots as well.
Among others there is a photograph of a farmer in Regina, Canada, Must be close to you 
then, William (Robb), in case you're reading.

Anyone who cares much for Karsh' shooting nowadays?
