Olympus always seems to price their E- cameras high enough to lose
sales. The E-10 was nice, but $1000 more (MSRP) than the other
cameras which used the same sensor and had similar quality lenses
(DSC-F717, DImage 7-series). Sure it had a nicer build quality and a
better viewfinder, but it hard to make up for $1000.

The E-1 is a great system in concept, but the sensor seems to leave a
lot to be desired compared to the sensors used by the APS-sized D-SLRs
like the *ist D or Canon 10D. The body is bigger than the *ist D. In
some ways it is ahead of the competition (environmental seals) but in
others it is way behind (older AF design). There aren't many lenses
available and there is still a lot of doubt on how long the system
will be available.

They really need a baby E-1 that is priced lower to get more amateurs
interested in the system.
